About ForQRCode
ForQRCode is a free browser tool for QR codes. You type the payload, you set a logo if you want one, you download a file. That is the job.
What it is
People land here when they need a code for a poster, a menu, a box, or a campaign and they do not want to buy desktop software for one afternoon of work. Static codes encode the data in the pattern. After you save the file, they keep working without our servers.
You do not need an account to download a static code. You can make a dense, colorful mark. You can also make a plain black square. Both are valid if a phone can read them.
What you can put in a code
The types people ask for have not changed much: a URL, plain text, SMS, email, a phone number, a vCard, a street address, WiFi login, and a social profile. Those sit next to barcodes if you need a linear code for a shelf.
A code is only useful if the payload is right. Check the URL. Check the WiFi name. A static file cannot be edited later, so the time you spend on the preview is cheaper than a reprint.
A logo in the middle
You can drop your mark into the code. We leave quiet space around it so cameras can still find the corner squares. Cover too much of the grid and the scan fails in print, which is a bad day.
The placement is not decoration. It is so the printed square looks like yours and still opens when someone holds a phone up to it.
Files you can take away
Export at a high resolution. PNG is fine on a screen. SVG, PDF, and EPS hold up when a printer asks for vectors. Logo and color currently apply to PNG and SVG.
Scan a test copy before you print a large run. We cannot see the paper stock or the lighting in the hallway where the poster will hang.
Still here
ForQRCode has been on the web since 2015. The generator is free to use for static codes. Open an account if you want saved work, dynamic links you can edit later, or scan counts.
If something breaks, or you need a person, use the contact page.
A logo in the code only works if a camera can still find the corners.
